Bridges for Years 5 and 6

A fun, two hour 'hands-on' technology workshop for up to 36 pupils in Years 5 or 6. This workshop supports Unit 6A 'Shelters' in the QCA Scheme of Work.

Our experienced teacher will use LEGO DACTA ® Structures II (9618) and Early Structures Student Sets (9660) with the pupils assisted by their class teacher to:

  • investigate how various bridges are constructed

  • build from a Building Instruction Cards arch, suspension and truss bridges

  • design and make their own bridge.

This workshop can be extended into a three and a half hour workshop and used to support a 'Gifted and Talented' Programme.
