ScottishPower Sellafield Ltd EAZs back

Education Action Zones

Local Authorities can book workshops directly. Our experienced teachers provide all of the resources and tuition and support key areas of the National Curriculum.

Teachers from Industry provided Deanery/LIFE EAZ (Everton/Kirkdale area of Liverpool) primary schools with a four-year science based programme for pupils aged 5 to 11 years. Classes received hands-on science workshops covering electrical circuits, forces and materials. Pupils in year six also received Booster/SAT's extended workshops.

"The Deanery EiL Zone is very proud of its association with Teachers From Industry Ltd and the work that they have undertake to raise standards in science across all the Zone's schools."

Andy Houldsworth, Director of Deanery/LIFE EAZ.

For three years we provided Knowsley EAZ (Huyton area of Knowsley) primary schools with a year six 'Gifted and Talented' programme. This covered extended workshops in electrical circuits, forces, materials and motorised vehicles. We provided a further year for North Huyton Learning Collaborative (formally  Knowsley EAZ) primary schools with a year six Booster/SAT's extended electrical circuits and forces workshops programme.

"If Science learning could always be as fun and hands-on as this" said KEAZ Projects Manager Barbara Kelly. "Because the children loved every minute of it."

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank your organisation on behalf of NHLC schools for the excellent science workshops delivered earlier this year. The feedback from all the schools, from both the pupils and staff, was extremely positive and complimentary to your staff"

Amanda Graham, Programme Monitoring Officer North Huyton Learning Collaborative.

For five years we provided LEAP EAZ (Ellesmere Port, Cheshire) primary schools with an electrical circuit workshop programme (this was sponsored by BNFL).

"Thanks for the series of BNFL workshops, I count them amongst the most successful of the EAZ initiatives and the schools speak very highly of them."

                                              Liz Cousins, Director LEAP EAZ
